Arjun graduated from XLRI Jamshedpur in 1990, and began his journey in Organizational Development at SRF. This was followed by a fulfilling stint with the Instructional Design group of NIIT, where he was awarded the Excellence Award for Creative Instructional Design of computer-based soft skills training. After two jobs, it became apparent to Arjun that to perform at his peak potential, he needed a free hand to set his own path, and he founded his calling – the Performance Support practice of Vyaktitva. As Director he brings to the Vyaktitva team a highly creative conceptualization ability, and facilitates various internal and external interventions.
Arjun’s passion is to work in the area of enhancing performance through cultural, structural, developmental and systemic interventions with people. He is equally passionate about mainstreaming social action by building social responsibility into every citizen and he pursues this vision with other founder members of a non-profit organization called Pravah, which sensitizes young people to social issues.
Gagan, Senior Partner at Vyaktitva is an HR professional with experience in almost all areas of HR in people centred organizations. An XLRI 1990 alumnus, Gagan joined NIIT in its high growth and global expansion phase in the core HR team. During the decade of the IT boom, Gagan handled a variety of HR roles covering the complete gamut of HR functions at regional, business and corporate levels for 10 years. Having done his rounds in the HR function, Gagan’s itch to understand the “other side of the business world” led the leadership team in NIIT to offer him a role in 'NIIT Ventures' which spearheaded NIIT's inorganic growth initiatives. Scanning and evaluating business plans and prospective investee companies provided him a perfect platform to understand the business big picture, financials and business levers. Gagan later helped launch and run a business unit providing recruitment and training solutions to BPO and service industry.
Gagan turned entrepreneur in 2004 and joined Vyaktitva as a partner with the desire to help enhance people performance across organisations. Gagan has been working on various Organizational Design, Learning & Development and coaching assignments focused on individual and organizational performance. He has designed and delivered solutions for premier organizations in the country including the Max group, PepsiCo, Amex, Unilever, Colgate, Airtel, Genpact, Hewitt, Whirlpool, Accenture, GE, ITC and IBM.
Gagan’s experience entails
R VENKATESH LYER
R Venkatesh (Venki) Iyer has spent a substantial part of his life trying to figure out human beings and the best we can say at this point in time in his favour is that his endeavor is still work in progress and that he has been on this planet for a considerable amount of time. His claims of other planets and satellites are unverified.
Along the way, he has developed a nuanced insight into people and organisations the hard way – by making mistakes ( which is what he is best at doing ) . A hit and trial artist and a natural paddler against the tide, his progress is often unpredictable and unravels in fits and bursts. However, there is a method to his madness, a contagious brand of lunacy that he can infect people with and in the process guide their metamorphosis into becoming better human beings and leaders.
His own life and those of countless others testify to the reward and impact of his coaching. And to make matters worse, he happens to thoroughly enjoy his work.
As a Senior Partner at Vyaktitva (serious face or else he may get summarily suspended and defenestrated forthwith) he works with organisations in accelerating change in both people as a Coach and Leadership Teams as facilitator. This he does along with many kindred souls at Vyaktitva.
When he is not coaching, he can be found walking in the hills, buried under a pile of books or humming a Rafi song..
An Economics and Management graduate, Apurva started his career in 1985 as a researcher and report writer with Organization for Applied Socio-Economic Systems (OASES), working on rural development and women & child development programs initiated by the UN and Govt of India.
Over the next two decades and a half, Apurva played diverse roles in the Education, Talent Development (HR) and Business Operations domains at NIIT Ltd and American Express, based out of India and Singapore. At American Express, while based out of Singapore, he managed the Global Talent, Leadership Development and Learning Deployment function across Japan, Asia-Pacific & Australia (JAPA), working closely with HR and business leaders across JAPA, US and Europe.
He is a certified facilitator for Leadership and Change Management programs as well as a certified Executive Coach and MBTI Practitioner. Apurva specializes in key areas like Leadership Effectiveness, Performance Management/Improvement, Change Management, Talent Management, Organizational Development and Executive Coaching. With a strong blend of Organizational Development and Coaching skills, business management, operations and sales management skills, coupled with diverse international, cross-cultural experience, he brings with him the ability to relate the organizational linkages and cause-effect relationships at play. He strongly believes that this unique blend of business and Learning/OD experience makes his work practical and relevant, instead of the proverbial “ivory tower”, for his clients and target audience.
A passionate people’s person, he loves working with people to help them improve performance, behaviour, relationships and results – at individual, team and organizational levels.
